According to reports, Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie is looking for a way out of the club, with the midfielder said to be frustrated by his lack of action during the 2022-23 campaign.

The 25-year-old joined Barcelona during the summer as a free agent, after winding up his contract with AC Milan.

Kessie was a key player during his time at Milan, scoring 37 goals and registering 16 assists in 223 appearances for the Italian giants in all competitions.

However, he has struggled for games at Barcelona. The Ivorian has started only four times since his arrival – twice in the Champions League and twice in La Liga.

According to Fichajes and several media outlets, Kessie is unhappy with his current situation at Camp Nou and is keen to explore the possibility of a departure during the January window.

The player’s agent has come out to say the rumours are fake.

“It’s fake news, totally false. Kessie is very happy at Barca and in Barcelona,” George Atangana told Mundo Deportivo.

“He’s been at the club for a few months and is still in the process of adapting to the team and Barca’s style of play, which is very different from the style of other clubs, so it takes time.

“Kessie continues his hard work in order to earn his place on the team. He does not give up easily. He had other offers this summer but he insisted on Barca.”
