Barcelona legend Lionel Messi has made an important decision regarding his future.

The veteran forward has revealed that the World Cup in Russia this November would be his last World Cup with Argentina.

“This will be my last World Cup – for sure. The decision has been made,” Leo Messi told journalist Sebastian Vignolo.

This would be Messi’s fifth World Cup appearance, and he’d be aiming to win it this time.

Meanwhile, Barcelona president Joan Laporta is keen on seeing Messi return to Barcelona and end his career at the club.

According to La Vanguardia, Joan Laporta ‘will build a Leo Messi statue’ to honour the football legend.

The Barca president reportedly believes that this, as well as organising a testimonial match, is still not enough to pay a proper tribute to Messi.
