Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez handed Gerard Pique his second start of the season in Barca’s 1-0 victory over RCD Mallorca.
The veteran defender hasn’t featured much this season, but put in a very solid shift against Mallorca.
Pique has found himself become fifth choice centre-back at Barcelona, as he has found himself behind Ronald Araujo, Jules Kounde, Eric Garcia and Andreas Christensen.
Barça have two players out injured in defence, with Pique, Eric Garcia and Andreas Christensen the available options to face Inter Milan on Tuesday.
Xavi was asked if Pique would play against the Italian giants.
“He could be a starter. We have a squad with many quality players,” the Barca coach said.
