Just before the international break, Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez had a very fit squad.
However, following the international games, five Barcelona players suffered injury.
Ronald Araujo, Frenkie de Jong, Memphis Depay and Jules Kounde all got injured while on international duty, while Hector Bellerin got injured in Barcelona training.
Speaking about the injuries to his players, Xavi admitted that the injury to Ronald Araujo is the most impactful because he’d be out for a long time.
“Most impactful injury? Of course, it is Ronald Araujo because of the length of his absence. It is unfortunate that he is absent and so are the rest of the players. However, part of football is injuries, and we have to accept them,” Xavi said in his latest press conference.
“We have time to recover many players before El Clasico, but Araujo will not be ready for El Clasico.”
The Uruguayan has undergone surgery and could be out of action for at least two months.
