Lionel Messi’s future at Barcelona has been up for some time now.

The Argentine international is in the final year of his contract with PSG, and is yet to give an update on his future.

Barcelona want Messi back, while PSG are also keen on keeping him.

Meanwhile, journalist Marc Marba has given an update on Messi’s situation, regarding his future.

According to the La Porteria journalist, Messi does not wish to extend his contract at PSG but is also uncertain about returning to Barcelona.

Messi had endured a difficult start to his life in Ligue 1, and was even booed by the fans at some point last season.

However, the Argentine had had a brilliant start to the season, having been involved in 14 goals in 11 competitive matches so far this campaign.

According to Marba, Messi will not return to Camp Nou if Gerard Pique is still a part of the team.

Reports claim Messi and Pique are not in good terms.

Messi’s relationship with Pique is said to have deteriorated massively towards the end of his time at Barcelona. Some reports had claimed that the two were not even in talking terms at one point.

According to Marba, Pique’s future at Barcelona would play a role in ensuring whether Messi would be a Barcelona player next season.
