According to ARA, Barcelona are a plotting a move for Real Madrid attacker Marco Asensio as replacement for France international Ousmane Dembele.

Dembele extended his Barcelona contract by two years this summer and it is claimed his agent is angling a move away for the player next summer to pocket a hefty signing bonus.

Should Dembele leave, Barcelona hope to replace him by signing Real Madrid attacker Asensio as a free agent next summer.

Barcelona have been interested in signing Asensio since 2014 when he was at Mallorca but Real Madrid beat Barcelona to his signing in 2015.

Asensio has struggled for game time under Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid so far this season, playing just four matches. He is yet to start a game for Real Madrid this season.
