According to reports, Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez is targeting Chelsea midfielder Jorginho to replace Sergio Busquets.
The 34-year-old midfield veteran is in his final year at Barcelona, and it’s yet to be seen if he’d stay on at Barcelona.
Meanwhile, Barca are keeping tabs on Jorginho’s contract situation with a view of signing him as a free agent, according to The Sun.
Xavi sees Jorginho as a good option if the 30-year-old Chelsea vice-captain decides to leave Stamford Bridge.
Jorginho is closing in on 200 appearances for Chelsea, but his immediate future at the club remains unclear.
The World Cup winner has won the Champions League and Europa League during his spell at Chelsea and it’s yet to be seen if he’d be a key player under new Chelsea manager Graham Potter.
Meanwhile, Barcelona who have signed up Andreas Christensen and Marcos Alonso from Chelsea could make a move for Jorginho in January.
