Jordi Alba has sent a surprise ‘thank you’ message to Spain head coach Luis Enrique for trusting him with game time.
Alba is a regular for Spain, but isn’t for Barcelona, and many believe that his ‘thank you’ message to Luis Enrique is actually targeted at Barca boss Xavi.
“I want to thank Luis Enrique for trusting me. It’s time for me to win the trust back on the pitch,” Jordi Alba said after Spain’s 2-1 loss to Switzerland.
Meanwhile, former Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has said that Barcelona veterans and former teammates Gerard Pique and Jordi Alba would be unhappy with their current role at the club.
Cesc Fabregas said: “It costs a lot to accept the substitution.
“What will cost them more when they don’t play is that the next day you have to work with the substitutes while the starters recover.”
