It has been quite a troubling international break for Barcelona, as some of the club’s players have been getting injured playing for their country.
Ousmane Dembele came off the bench for France in the 78th minute against Austria, and the 25-year-old winger finished the match with muscle discomfort, according to reports.
France head coach Didier Deschamps has confirmed that the Barcelona forward will train away from the rest of the group today, which seem a bit worrying.
“He has calf discomfort. He will train separately, we’ll see how he feels today,” Deschamps said (h/t L’Equipe).
Barcelona have confirmed Jules Kounde and Ronald Araujo have picked up injuries while playing for their respective countries during the international break.
On Araujo, Barcelona said in a statement: “Tests on Saturday morning have confirmed that Ronald Araujo has a right adductor longus tendon avulsion. As a result he is unavailable for selection until he recovers.”
On Kounde, Barcelona said: “Tests on Saturday morning have confirmed that Jules Kounde has a biceps femoris injury in his left hamstring. As a result he is unavailable for selection until he recovers.”
