I learnt it from the streets – Barcelona star says after scoring amazing goal

Memphis Depay scored Barcelona’s second goal of the game in the 3-0 victory over Elche.

It was a superb goal, as Depay turned past a defender inside the box and smashed the ball into the net.

Depay has admitted he learnt the skill while playing as a young child in the streets.

“When I was a child I played in the streets a lot. In tight spaces, you need to use some smart things. I have some skills in my pocket, and that was one of them,” the Barcelona forward said.

This was also Depay’s first goal of the season, having played 131 minutes in there games.

Barcelona have had an excellent start to the season, and Xavi has admitted he’s pleased with the start to the campaign.

Xavi said after the game: “We’ve had a good start to the season. I’m very grateful. Everyone is ready to play at any time, and you can see that. Everyone can make a difference.”

“16 out of 18 points is a good start. I am satisfied.”
