Barcelona lost 2-0 to Bayern Munich in the crucial Champions League tie.

A quick-fire second-half goals from the home side sealed a victory for Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.

However, that wasn’t the true tale of the game. Barcelona were by far the better side in the first half but failed to take their opportunities, while Bayern were very clinical in the second-half.

Speaking after the game, Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez admitted his team lost because they failed to take advantage of their opportunities.

Xavi said: “When you fail to take advantage of your chances in the Champions League, you end up paying for it.

“We have been better than Bayern. But they do take advantage of the chances, that’s the difference.

“We had 6 or 7 chances to score.”
