Barcelona star Jordi Alba has revealed his disappointment with the club with the way he has been treated.

Barcelona reached an agreement with Inter Milan, for the 33-year-old to join Inter Milan in the last few days of the summer transfer campaign.

However, Alba refused to join the Serie A side and decided to stay put at the club.

Alba was said to be frustrated with Barcelona for negotiating with other clubs without his consent. He’s currently no longer a key player in the Barcelona squad.

“In my thoughts, I have always wanted to be at Barcelona. I see myself good enough to be here for the years that remain on my contract [until 2024],” Jordi Alba has said at an Adidas event, per Diario Sport.

“…I have shown a lot of commitment to the club, teammates, and in the end, the decision is up to the club. They are what they are and they have their own interests. I will never get into that issue. My commitment is 100 per cent and that’s it. I’d like to tell you more but I’m not going to go into that subject.

“It’s not about whether it seems fair or not. The situation is what it is, in the end, I think everyone acts as they want. I wanted to stay.

“I am a man who likes talking face to face. Not everyone likes it, but I am born this way. I think things can be done better, but nothing surprises me with everything I’ve done in football,” the player concluded.

Reacting to the situation, a calm Xavi responded: “We understand Jordi Alba’s statement, he’s a hard worker. Everyone has their personal opinions. The most important thing is that he’s a professional, he trains well and is one of the leaders of our team.”
