It was for him – Ansu Fati explains reason for celebration

Ansu Fati was a 72 minute substitute in the 4-0 defeat of Cadiz.

Fati would go on to score the third goal for Barcelona, as he netted in the 86th minute.

After scoring the goal, Fati celebrated with an apology sign, and sent a message to the Cadiz supporter who had suffered a cardiac arrest during the game.

“Football was the least important thing today. I hope the fan is okay and I dedicate my goal to him and his family,” the Barcelona player has written on Instagram.

Play was halted in the 82nd minute – with Barca leading 2-0 at the time – when the players alerted the referee to a medical emergency in the stands at the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla, with an older supporter having collapsed.

The game was paused for over 30 minutes, but play was restored after the supporter was revived and sent to the hospital.
