Hector Bellerin sealed a move to Barcelona on transfer deadline day.
The Spaniard joined his boyhood club following a free transfer from Arsenal.
Bellerin who left Barcelona as a teenager is proud to be back at the Camp Nou.
According to the 27-year-old, it’s a move he didn’t expect.
Bellerin told the club’s media: “It’s one of those things that you think that one day you’ll have the opportunity to experience. I’ve had opportunities before, but for various reasons it never happened, and it’s been one of the years I least expected to come here. I’m very excited to be back home.”
Bellerin then reflected on his career before re-joining Barcelona: “I can’t compare the 16-year-old who left with the 27-year-old who’s coming back. I’m very proud and very grateful to everyone I’ve met over the years while I was away as they’ve made me the person I am today.
“A very different person is coming back with different ambitions, but with a lot of desire and the same enthusiasm to play football. Now I’m looking forward to getting to know my new teammates and start training as soon as possible. I came here to compete for everything.”
