Barcelona are set to complete the signing of Hector Bellerin on a free transfer.

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Barcelona have terminated the contract of Bellerin. The player had to forgo his remaining salary in the contract to make it possible.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed that Bellerin is set for a move to Camp Nou.

Romano wrote in his report: “Hector Bellerín to Barcelona, here we go! Been told it’s all agreed, one year contract with NO option for further season. Bellerín will sign until June 2023 in the next hours.

“Medical scheduled, contract will be terminated by mutual consent with Arsenal.”

The Spanish right-back was formerly a Barcelona Academy player but left Camp Nou for Arsenal in 2011 as a teenager.

The 27-year-old spent last season on loan at Real Betis where he played 32 games and registered 5 assists.

Meanwhile, Marcos Alonso to Barcelona is also set to be a done deal.

Alonso will sign for Barcelona in a swap deal that’ll see Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang move to Chelsea.
