Barcelona striker Martin Braithwaite has now terminated his contract with Barcelona.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Denmark striker will now sign a three-year deal with Espanyol upon the termination of his contract.

Xavi has since told the 31-year-old that he wasn’t part of his plans for the season.

Back in June, Braithwaite had slammed his past season with Barcelona and he’d now be glad that his wishes were granted.

“I’ve played more in these four games than in the whole season there [at Barcelona],” Braithwaite told TV 2 SPORT.

“It’s been fantastic and I’m very happy with the confidence Kasper has given me.

“I was well aware that I couldn’t count on coming in and starting every game, but I knew that in training and in the limited minutes I had, I had to convince Hjulmand that I was fit.

“I feel that I have shown that I am strong, that I am myself and that I have recovered from my injury.

“I am insanely happy, and insanely grateful for the trust they [Denmark’s coaching staff] have given me.

“It’s been great to be back after not being here since the European Championship.

“I’m proud to be back and to be able to help the team again.”
