Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez has reserved massive praise for Barcelona defender Eric Garcia.

Eric Garcia played from start to finish as Barcelona defeated Real Valladolid 4-0 at the Camp Nou on Saturday.

Speaking after the game, Xavi admitted he was impressed with Garcia’s performance.

“Eric Garcia receives a lot of criticism. But for me, he is absolutely wonderful. He’s a top professional, and today he played another amazing match,” Xavi said.

“Having Eric Garcia on the team is a joy, it’s a wonder to train him and I’m very happy for him. He could be captain at only 21 years old.”
