Barcelona youngster Pablo Torre has linked with a loan move this summer. But it has now been called off.

Barcelona head coach Xavi has confirmed 19-year-old Pablo Torre will no longer be loaned out this season.

Xavi has revealed that he recently spoke to Torre and told him he has a role to play this season, and rejected the option of a loan move to Racing.

Xavi said, “I think it will be right if he stays with us. It is difficult to get minutes, but I think he will have opportunities.

“I think he can learn more here. He should take this year as an apprenticeship. This season he has experienced a change of scenery because earlier he was only playing at home and now he is out of his habitat.

“He is at Barça and he has to be an important player for the future. He can be. We will have matches every three days and it’s good that he stays with us and, if he has to help the reserve team, he can do so without any problems because he is old enough to do so.”
