According to The Athletic, Barcelona have successfully registered Jules Kounde for La Liga.
The 23-year-old was Barca’s last signing of the summer, but is yet to feature for Barca in the Premier League, as the La Liga body rejected Barca’s proposal to register the Frenchman.
Barcelona registered four of their five new signings before the start of La Liga, with Kounde being the only omission.
Kounde is expected to be in Xavi’s squad for the game against Real Valladolid this Sunday.
It came as a surprise that Barcelona could register Kounde despite not selling any player.
Barcelona would even pay a major part of Samuel Umtiti’s salary despite his loan move to Leece.
According to reports in Spain, Barcelona presented their case for Kounde on three occasions to Javier Tebas-led La Liga. But their requests rejected by the La Liga body.
Barca then threatened to take the matter to court, claiming that four levers were enough to register all their players – with an income of more than €800m.
Following this Barcelona’s latest move, the La Liga finally turned around and permitted Kounde’s registration.
