Barcelona will face Manchester City at Camp Nou in a charity game on Wednesday, August 24, to raise awareness for a disease known simply as ALS.
The game against Man City is just a friendly match to help raise funds for research against the deadly disease.
Back in 2020, former Barcelona goalkeeping coach Juan Carlos Unzue was diagnosed with the disease, which has no cure.
It’s expected to be a packed Camp Nou stadium for this game.
Despite it being a friendly, Xavi is keen on winning it and wants to name a strong squad to test his side against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
It would also be the first time Xavi and Guardiola would face each other – both La Masia graduates turned coaches.
Guardiola managed Xavi during his time at Barcelona, as the ex Barca boss built a team that terrorised Europe.
