Former Barcelona midfielder Riqui Puig has left Barcelona and sealed a surprise move to MLS side LA Galaxy.

The 23-year-old Spaniard left Barcelona after Xavi made it clear that he wasn’t in his plans for this season.

Barca do have the option to buy back Puig if he does impress for the MLS side.

However, Puig has revealed his disappointment at how he was treated by Xavi and Barcelona.

Speaking in an interview with Diario AS, Riqui Puig said: “I feel disappointed with Xavi and with Barcelona.”

The 23-year-old midfielder spoke about his lack of minutes at the club, and how he was treated during pre-season.

He said: “My last month at Barça was very difficult for me. Leaving a player out of the pre-season tour… I had never seen that before.

“I was with a few other teammates in Barcelona, who they also wanted to force out, while the squad played matches. I was hurt by it.”
