Barcelona were expected to start the season on fire, but the Blaugrana were held to a goalless draw against Rayo Vallecano.

Despite 67 percent possession and 21 attempted shots, Barcelona couldn’t score a goal at the Camp Nou.

Speaking after the game, Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez admitted it wasn’t the best of games from Barcelona and apologised for the result.

“It wasn’t our best game,” Xavi said after the draw at Rayo.

“We got to their area, but we weren’t effective. It’s only one point, that’s insufficient. But we have to keep believing in the model, working hard.”

“Yes, I understand the disappointment because we had generated many expectations. We have to analyse the game well, improve, and continue.”

“Our aspirations are high. We are sorry, frankly,” Xavi added.
