Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez has made five signings this summer, and the deal to sign Marcos Alonso from Chelsea is expected to be the 6th summer signing.
According to Diario Sport, Xavi is still worried about one position – Barcelona’s right-back.
Xavi doesn’t seem to trust either Sergino Dest or Sergi Roberto, and was keen on signing Cesar Azpilicueta from Chelsea.
Barca is secure at left-back, as Marcos Alonso will act as backup to Jordi Alba.
The deal to sign Cesar Apilicueta from Chelsea didn’t go through, as Azpilicueta turned around to sign a new deal with the club, having been offered more wages.
Xavi has said the club isn’t done in the transfer market, and could target another right-back option before the close of the summer transfer window.
