Barcelona have ended their pre-season on a high, after beating Mexican side Unam Pumas 6-0 at Camp Nou to win the Joan Gamper Trophy.
Goals from Robert Lewandowski, Pedri, Ousmane Dembele, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Frenkie de Jong sealed a 6-0 win for Barcelona.
The first-half ended 4-0, as Barcelona dominated the game, and goals from Aubameyang and De Jong in the second-half sealed the victory.
Speaking about the game and Barcelona’s pre-season as a whole, Xavi said: “Overall, we had a good pre-season. It was dynamic, with good football, and good results. The sensations are very good.”
Xavi also admitted that his squad is ready for the season and the competition for places is tough.
Xavi said: “I have many options and it will be difficult to decide on the starting XI, but this is a good thing. Competition makes everyone better.”
Xavi also admitted that there is still room for improvement ahead of the new season.
Xavi added: “With this intensity and desire levels, we’re doing well. Intensity is indisputable. However, there are a lot of things we have to improve.”
