According to reports, Barcelona are closing in on a deal for Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso.
Mundo Deportivo’s Roger Torello has claimed that Marco Alonso is very close to becoming a Barcelona player.
The report adds that Alonso has already said goodbye to some of the workers at Chelsea.
Barcelona want to complete the deal before the start of the season.
Xavi is a fan of the 31-year-old left-back, and his signing would bring competition to Jordi Alba next season.
If the deal goes through, Alex Balde will most likely leave on loan despite having impressed during pre-season.
With Chelsea having signed Marc Cucurella, Alonso has been deemed expendable by Thomas Tuchel.
Both clubs are believed to have agreed a fee of €10m, and Alonso will sign a contract until 2024 with an option for an additional year.
