Barcelona have completed the signing of Jules Kounde from Sevilla.

Barcelona acquired Jules Kounde from Sevilla for €50 million plus add-ons, as Barca beat off competition from Chelsea for his signature.

Kounde is a natural centre-back, but also plays as a right-back.

The France international has now admitted that he prefers to play as a centre-back and attack from that position, rather than play as a fullback.

“I like to attack. The truth is, I like to play centrally while a wing-back [literally, playing on a wing] is not my position,” Kounde said.

“When I happen to play on the wing, I play, but I’m a central player. From a central position, I can go up the pitch and contribute offensively.

“It’s different when I play on a wing because I have to hug the line. But when I’m in the centre, I have more options [to play the ball],” the defender adds.
