Barcelona have sent a message to Real Madrid ahead of Sunday’s El Clasico in Las Vegas, USA.
Ahead of the game on Sunday, Barcelona president Joan Laporta sent a message to Real Madrid which read: “Don’t worry Merengues, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.”
It’s not only Laporta who stars in Barça’s official promotional campaign for the match. Xavi also features, next to the slogan “If you come to Las Vegas to play, we’ll play”.
So much is expected from Barcelona next season after a fine summer transfer window, especially after the signing of Robert Lewandowski.
Lewandowski has an incredible scoring record, and last season alone, he scored an astonishing 35 league goals in 34 appearances, and 13 goals in 10 Champions League appearances.
The 33-year-old striker ended up with 50 goals in 46 appearances in all competitions last season.
The Poland international has vowed to score much more for Barcelona.
“In football it’s important to have the will to win and I think I’m in the best place to do that,” Lewandowski said. “I’m hungry for goals.
“We have a lot of work to do, but there is a lot of quality in the squad and a lot of potential. I’m at a good club.
“I have done the last few training sessions with my teammates and I am ready to play in the next game [against Real Madrid].
“I hope I can score a lot of goals, that’s my challenge.”
