Barcelona president Joan Laporta has shocked many football observers as the club has had a very positive summer transfer window.

Barcelona have since snapped up Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie on free transfers from Chelsea and AC Milan respectively.

The Blaugrana also tied down Ousmane Dembele to a new deal, before going on to sign Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski despite strong interest from Chelsea.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has said that the club is fast rebuilding itself after a successful summer market, and admitted that Barcelona is back again in the spotlight.

Laporta was speaking in Miami where he presented Robert Lewandowski – the latest addition to the Barcelona squad.

He said: “We are trying to make a team that’s increasingly competitive, we are progressing very well.

“I want to thank the sports department for the work they’ve done, led by Mateu Alemany and Jordi Cruyff and sporting vice-President Rafa Yuste, for this signing which has had an impact on world football.

“We are recovering our status and putting Barça back into the spotlight again. We will keep making a team that’s more competitive, in line with what we can manage to do.”
