Barcelona president Joan Laporta has helped Xavi Hernandez build a formidable team at Barcelona ahead of the 2022-23 season.

Laporta has indeed been committed to improving the quality of the team, and it’s safe to say that the current Barcelona team can fight for the title this coming season.

According to reports, Barcelona have reached an agreement in principle with Chelsea over their defender Cesar Azpilicueta.

Diario Sport’s Javier Giraldo has reported that Barca will pay between €4m and €4.5m for the defender.

Azpilicueta will sign a 2-year deal with an option of extending it for one more year.

Azpilicueta is expected to play at right-back next season. The 32-year-old can play at right-back and centre-back if needed.

Azpilicueta will come to Barcelona with a wealth of experience, having won the Champions League and numerous titles with Chelsea and Spain.
