Barcelona have today officially confirmed the signing of Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich.

Barcelona and Bayern reached an agreement of €50m for the transfer of Robert Lewandowski – €45 million + €5 million in add-ons.

Lewandowski has also signed a four-year contract.

Lewandowski has since joined the team in the United States. Lewandowski arrived in Miami on Sunday and met his new teammates.

Barcelona legend Hristo Stoichkov is convinced Xavi’s team can win the LaLiga this season, following the addition of Lewandowski.

The Bulgarian great believes the arrival of Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich will make a huge difference.

He said, “I am very happy with this transfer.

“Lewandowski is a great striker. He has many qualities, different qualities. In addition, he works very hard for it. Barca missed a goalscorer.

“They needed it and now they have one.

“Barcelona will win La Liga with this team. I can say that now.”

Lewandowski himself, has admitted that his aim is to win the La Liga.

Lewandowski said: “I am here to help Barça get back to the top and win as many titles as possible,” said Lewandowski today upon touching down in the US.

“I’m finally here. I am very happy to be at Barça. The last days have been long, but in the end the agreement has become a reality. I am ready to face this new challenge in my career. I am a guy who likes to win matches and titles. I hope that the season starts and ends well in this sense.

“I have always wanted to play for a great club in LaLiga and this is a great opportunity for me. It is also a challenge for my private life.

“It was easy to make the decision. I want to play and win titles and I know that with Xavi this will be very possible. He knows perfectly how to lead Barça. He was an amazing player and now he is a great coach. He has a great future and I want to be part of it.

“I am a footballer who always wants to win. We have great players, with a lot of quality, in the squad. I am excited about what we can all achieve together.”
