‘Playing for Barcelona is my dream’ – New signing explains why he rejected Premier League giants for Barcelona

Barcelona have completed the signing of Raphinha from Leeds United.

The Brazilian has completed his medical with the club and is expected to be unveiled at Camp Nou on Friday, July 15.

Chelsea were keen on signing the Brazilian, and had agreed terms with Leeds. However, Raphinha only wanted a move to Barcelona.

Speaking for the first time as a Barca player, Raphinha admitted playing for Barcelona has always been his dream.

“Playing for Barcelona is my dream, my family’s dream, my friends’ dream. Whoever saw me play when I was a child knows about my dreams, and playing for Barca is the fulfilment of that child’s dream,” Raphinha told Barcelona’s official website.

“I hate losing. It’s hard for me to accept a loss. I will fight to make sure we win every match and I will fight to get the best out of me each match.”

He also said: “It’s an honour for me to play for Barcelona. I saw everything Ronaldinho did here. I hope to do at least half of what Ronaldinho and Neymar did here.”
