Despite Barcelona’s financial predicament, the Blaugrana has shown that they can compete for the biggest players.
Barcelona have released a statement confirming that they have agreed a fee for Leeds United star Raphinha.
“FC Barcelona and Leeds United Football Club have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of Raphael Dias Belloli, Raphinha, pending the player passing his medical,” a short statement from the club reads.
Barcelona’s offer is reportedly worth €55m (£46.5m) plus a further €10m (£8.5m) in add-ons – slightly less than the one accepted by Chelsea.
Barcelona have since hijacked the deal from Chelsea, having reached an agreement with Raphinha back in March.
A deal for Ousmane Dembele has also been confirmed.
Dembele will sign for Barcelona until 2024, while Raphinha’s deal is until 2027.
“Barcelona president Joan Laporta confirms Ousmane Dembélé new deal set to be announced: “Yes, this week we’ll sign and present Raphinha and Ousmane Dembélé”. #FCB
“Dembélé will sign until June 2024, Raphinha joins until June 2027.”
