After what has seemed like weeks of negotiations, Barcelona have now agreed terms with Leeds United for the transfer of Raphinha.
Talks had been at a standstill for a number of days as the Premier League side awaited an official offer from Barcelona, and Leeds were seeking guarantees of payments before accepting the bid.
Barcelona is said to have tabled an offer which is believed to €55 million plus an additional €20 million in performance-related add-ons, which is similar to Chelsea’s bid, and Leeds have accepted it.
Confirming the deal, Fabrizio Romano wrote on Twitter:
“Raphinha to Barcelona, here we go! Full agreement reached with Leeds after today’s bid accepted: €58m fixed fee plus add-ons up to total €67m package. #FCB
“Raphinha only wanted Barça since February and he’s set to sign until June 2027, time for documents and contracts.”
This deal comes as a big blow to Chelsea fans who were excited about the signing of the Brazilian.
Chelsea have had a bid accepted by Leeds United, but Raphinha wanted a move to Barcelona.
The 25-year-old began his career with Avai in Brazil, before moving to Europe aged 19 to join Vitoria Guimaraes. He went on to play for Sporting CP and Rennes before joining Leeds in 2015.
Last season, Raphinha scored 11 goals in 35 Premier League games as he helped Leeds secure a place in the Premier League. He also made nine caps for Brazil, in which he scored three times.
