Chelsea were believed to be leading the race for Leeds United star Raphinha, but Barcelona have since hijacked deal.
Chelsea had previously hijacked the deal from Arsenal, as Leeds accepted a £60m bid from Chelsea.
However, the Brazil international is not keen on a move to Stamford Bridge, and would prefer a move to the Camp Nou.
Chelsea have made an offer of £60m, while Barcelona are offering €50m with €10m on add-ons.
According to reports, Leeds United have now given an ultimatum to Barcelona to submit their latest offer for Raphinha by Thursday as Chelsea continue to wait on the winger.
Raphinha’s agent, Deco, met with Barcelona’s hierarchy on multiple occasions last week but the Spanish club have yet to reach an agreement with Leeds.
Despite Raphinha’s preference to join Barcelona, the La Liga club are not willing to match Chelsea’s bid.
ESPN claim that Raphinha would even prefer to remain at Elland Road in the short term and hope that Barcelona’s financial situation resolves itself once the winter window opens.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta recently spoke about Raphinha’s desire to join Barcelona as he said: “Raphinha wants to come at Barça. We have communication and have spoken with Leeds.
“What’s there is that there are other clubs that want Raphinha and are making their proposals.”
