Andreas Christensen has today been unveiled as a Barcelona player.

The 26-year-old left Chelsea as a free agent to sign up for Barcelona.

The Dane international has signed a four-year deal at Barcelona, that would keep him at the club until 2026.

According to Christensen, his move to Barcelona is a childhood dream which has now come true.

β€œI’m very proud,” he said.

β€œWhen I was 8 years old I wrote my dreams for the future on a piece of paper: to be a professional footballer and play for Barca.

β€œI would like to thank the President, Jordi Cruyff and Mateu Alemany for making this possible.

β€œXavi hasn’t asked me for anything special. I’m here because of who I am as a player and I think I fit in very well with Barca’s style. I don’t have to change, although I do improve every day

β€œI’m not the biggest or the strongest, so it will be important for me to use my head well to play here at Barca, from what I’ve been told, this can help me a lot.”

Christensen has now urged Barcelona-linked duo Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso to dump Stamford Bridge for the Camp Nou.

He said: β€œI spoke with Marcos Alonso and Azpilicueta and told them that I wanted to play for Barca.

β€œI want to see them again next season.”
