Barcelona’s famous Camp Nou Stadium has officially been renamed Spotify Camp Nou as a new partnership between Barcelona and the global music streaming platform comes into effect.
Barcelona have confirmed the deal with Spotify, reported to be worth €280m, in March this year.
The club’s recently launched home and away kits for the 2022/23 season feature the company’s name and logo on the front and will do for four years until 2026.
Barcelona unveiled the rebrand on Friday and three players from the men’s team and three from the women’s side happened to be the face of the Spotify Camp Nou.
The trio of Pedri, Mapi Leon, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang featured along with Alexia Putellas, Ansu Fati and Aitana Bonmatí.
The players all posed in the new home kit for 2022-23 which also bears the Spotify logo.
Spotify will also sponsor Barcelona’s training kit until 2025, while the naming rights part of the deal has now kicked in following the official end of the 2021/22 season on 30 June.
Describing the naming rights, Barcelona released a statement, thus: “It will continue through the ambitious plan to restructure the entire Spotify Camp Nou as part of the Espai Barça project, whereby FC Barcelona will be converting its facilities and environs into a brand new world class entertainment experience that will be open to the whole city of Barcelona.”
