Tottenham Hotspur are close to sealing a deal for Barcelona centre-back Clement Lenglet.
According to Sky Sports, Spurs have opened negations with Barca over Lenglet.
Tottenham manager Antonio Conte is keen on reinforcing his backline as he conducts his first pre-season in charge of Spurs.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed the deal to be true, and has claimed that the loan deal is almost set.
Romano revealed via a tweet: “Tottenham have now reached full agreement with Clément Lenglet on personal terms.
“He’s happy to join Spurs with Antonio Conte pushing to have him. #THFC
“Tottenham and Barcelona are still in direct contact to resolve final details of the loan deal, then… here we go, soon.”
The 27-year-old centre-back has five years’ experience in the Spanish top flight.
Lenglet spent a single season at Sevilla until 2018 before signing for Barcelona under manager Ernesto Valverde in order to partner Gerard Pique in the centre of defence.
However, Clement Lenglet never convinced since arriving at Camp Nou and was never a regular at the club.
In his first season at Nou Camp, he played 23 La Liga fixtures, and only played 21 times in the league last season.
