Sadio Mane has completed a move from Liverpool to Bayern Munich, in a deal that was supposed to aid Robert Lewandowski’s move to Barcelona.

Sadio Mane’s advisor, Bacary Cisse has revealed that ex PSG star, Lionel Messi wanted to see the Senegalese international join Barcelona when he was at Camp Nou.

Speaking on RMC’s After Foot show, Cisse said, “Last year, he could have done it with FC Barcelona too.

“It was Lionel Messi who wanted Sadio Mane, when it was a question of him extending to Barça. Before he came to Paris, he had given two names: Sadio Mane and an Argentine central defender.

“It was in June when they were in the middle of the Copa America.”

Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Liverpool have been in a triangle that included Sadio Mane, Darwin Nunez and Robert Lewandowski.

Nunez has already sealed a deal to Liverpool, Mane has joined Bayern Munich. However, Bayern are not keen on selling Lewandowski.

Despite Lewandowski’s interest in joining Barcelona, Bayern don’t seem to be interested in selling Lewandowski to Barcelona.

The 33-year-old Poland international has a year left on his contract with Bayern, and wants to leave the Allianz Arena.

Former President of the club, Uli Hoeness, has told Sport1 that Bayern Munich would need Lewandowski for next season and shouldn’t be sold.

According to Hoeness, he’s not in support of a Lewandowski transfer.

He said: “The new team is being worked on intensively. If everything that was presented to me last week works out, we will have an attractive team next year with Lewandowski.

“Things didn’t go exactly the way he and his agent wanted. That’s why they are angry,” Hoeness said.

“The sun will shine on Lewandowski and Bayern again. It has always been like that,” he added.
