Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has been linked with a summer transfer move to Barcelona, as the 33-year-old is keen on ending his 8-year spell with the German champions.
Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has admitted that he’d love to play with the Bayern Munich striker.
De Jong was in action for the Netherlands against Poland on Saturday and spoke to Lewandowski – who did not play in the match.
The Dutchman did not disclose what was said between the two players, but he admitted he would love to play alongside the striker.
Asked whether he has invited Lewandowski to join him at Barcelona, De Jong laughed and told TVP Sport: “He’s an amazing player, one of the best in the world. It’s up to him.”
Probed further on what he would like Lewandowski to do, the Barca man added: “Of course I would like to have him in my team!”
Meanwhile, there’s a transfer merry-go-round between De Jong, Lewandowski and Sadio Mane.
Bayern are targeting Mane as a likely replacement for Lewandowski who’s also being linked with a move to Barcelona.
Manchester United on the other hand are targeting a move for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, who has said he’s keen on remaining at Barcelona.
