Barcelona have a verbal agreement with Liverpool star Mohamed Salah to sign him next summer as a free agent, according to a report on The Mirror.

Salah has just one year left on his Liverpool contract and has so far failed to reach an agreement with the Premier League side over a new contract.

Liverpool and Salah are yet to reach an agreement over a new contract due to Liverpool’s reluctance to break the club’s wage structure.

The report claims Barcelona’s verbal offer to Salah is the reason why the Egyptian international is stalling on a new deal at Liverpool despite informing close friends a few months ago that he was ready to pen a new deal at the Merseyside club.

Salah has confirmed he will be a Liverpool player next season but there are question marks over who his employers will be beyond that.
