It was a poor season by Barcelona’s standard, but the club will definitely be pleased with how manager Xavi has transformed things at the Camp Nou.

Barca ended the 2021-22 campaign without a trophy, crashed out of the Champions League in the group stage and were knocked out by Athletic Bilbao in the Copa del Rey round of 16. Finishing second in La Liga, with a  whopping 15 points behind eternal rivals Real Madrid – buttressing just how bad the season was for Barcelona.

The Blaugrana are eyeing a squad revamp this summer, and would need some money to do so.

By selling a 49.9% stake in Barca Licensing & Merchandise (BLM) and up to 25% of the television rights, the club would have enough funds to revamp the squad.

The money will be used to pay debts, renew contracts, register players, and complete new signings.

Barcelona have already signed free agents Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie, and the duo would be registered once the sales are finalized.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Xavi has six players on his shortlist for the summer – Robert Lewandowski, Bernardo Silva, Jules Kounde, Kalidou Koulibaly, Marcos Alonso, and Cesar Azpilicueta.
